The poetic place
to contemplate
and to move
The Château de Frileuse was first mentioned in the 17th century and was rebuilt in its present form around 1850 by the then lord of the castle and governor of Martinique Admiral Antoine Marie Ferdinand de Maussion de Candé (* 10th March 1801, † 21st January 1867).
Immerse yourself in history in this magnificent château in the heart of the Loire Valley and the Cheverny wine region.
Majestic windows, a magnificent terrace and a park take guests back to 1850, when the Château de Frileuse was transformed into one of the most modern castles in the area by its then owner.
Each room at the Château is individually furnished, with a mix of authentic period furniture and modern interiors. A visit to the legendary castles of the Loire and the wineries could begin right here.
The Château de Frileuse is located in the heart of the Loire region, in the heart of France’s most famous castles.
In addition to the main house with 14 rooms, lounges with open fireplaces, a large castle kitchen and an event room in the basement for approx. 10 people, it includes an imposing shed with further accommodation and event facilities, a 30 hectare garden including tennis court and small pool as well as another 10 hectare adjoining forest.
Furthermore, the old farmhouse with its own rural charm is located on the castle grounds and can either be rented separately or in addition.
Located near the Loire, between Blois and Amboise, the property is ideal for seminars, corporate events or any kind of retreat of a different kind.
For the accommodation of horses 4 boxes are available.
The building complex consists of the castle, a stable, a coachman’s apartment, a farmhouse and a barn.
The total size of the building complex is approx. 2,000 square metres of residential/usable space.
There is probably nothing more beautiful than to be kidnapped into another epoch. The old wooden floor that creaks under your feet, the splendid mirrors, from which the fireplaces are splendidly decorated, and the antique pieces of furniture invite you on a journey to the central France of bygone times.
The park consists of a southern and northern castle park surrounded by a brook and a fence and the outer fields with arable land and pastures.
The forest to the east of the castle is reserved for the castle users and the nearby riding stable for horse rides. It is a natural and wild refuge, which can be used for horse riding, hunting and various sports activities.
In the middle of the Loire châteaux lies this little jewel of silence and relaxation. Surrounded by greenery and ponds, this historic building with its ancient walls welcomes both nature lovers in search of peace and quiet and those who love exercise, creativity and sport.
